Inside Line Promotions – STILLWATER, Okla. (May 23, 2017) – Zane Hendricks has a big weekend of racing on deck this Saturday and Sunday when he will compete in the 2nd annual Midget Round Up.

Hendricks, who is only a handful of races into his first full season competing in a midget, will make his debut at Airport Raceway in Garden City, Kan., this weekend when the doubleheader features the POWRi Lucas Oil West Midget Series and the Rocky Mountain Midget Racing Association.

“We’re going to try to come away with as many points as possible,” he said. “I’ve been told Airport Raceway is pretty similar to I-44 Riverside Speedway (in Oklahoma City, Okla.), which is where I’ve raced the majority of my races. Hopefully we can transfer that into a good run.”

Hendricks enters the weekend ranked 13th in the POWRi Lucas Oil West Midget Series championship standings. He ran into mechanical problems during the first two races of the season, was involved in an incident during the third event and was unable to make it out of the B Main during his most recent start.

“The biggest thing is not having experience,” he said. “Before when I raced in micros it might be a new track, but it’s the same car I’ve been in. With a midget I’m learning as we go.”

Hendricks posted his career-best midget result of third place during a USAC Gulf Coast Midget Series event at Boyd Raceway in Boyd, Texas, on April 28.
